Voluntary Association for Social Upliftment (VASU) is an NGO established by a group of committed people with rich experience and having a strong desire to do something out of the ordinary to help the under-privileged people. It is a registered organisation, registered under the registrar of societies act XXI of 1860 having its Regd No RS/KAM/240/Q/83 of 2003-2004 with its office at Subham Enclave, B-602, Lakhimi Nagar Path, Hatigaon, Guwahati- 781038, Assam.
The Association has been set up with the objectives of fighting rural poverty and deprivation by removing economic inequality and social injustice, inculcate, entrepreneurship and generate employment and income by promoting self employment activities, apart from several other activities. Handloom weaving and apparel making is one area in which our NGO has done lot of work among rural people and and Tea Tribes in which we have special interest and expertise. We have also been involved in fighting AIDS. We intend expanding our activities into other areas as well.
